IICRC-Rug Cleaning Certification Course

Rugs are everywhere . . . especially with consumers turning to more hard surface flooring alternatives for living areas. Area rugs have climbed to 25-30% of the total floor coverings market. Wouldn’t your rather clean a rug in your facility for $3.00-5.00 per s.f., than drive to a home or business and clean wall-to-wall carpet for .30 per sf. That's $324 for a single 9’ x 12’ rug! And that doesn't include fabric protection, urine treatment, pad sales and repair.
This 3-day Rug Cleaning Technician course taught by Ruth Travis, "The Rug Lady," Director of WoolSafe North America, Certified Rug Specialist and Master Rug Cleaner, covers natural and synthetic fibers, weaving, hand-knotting and tufting; dyeing; rug types and identification; cleaning techniques ranging from minimum-moisture to total-immersion; cleaning skins: fringe cleaning, blocking and minor repairs.
You'll see and learn to identify all major types of oriental and specialty rugs, with actual examples of over 100+ rugs and samples on display to photograph, touch and feel.
This course is being held in a real, live "working" cleaning plant and separate classroom. And the course it being taught by the only IICRC-RCT instructor who is actively working in a full-time rug and carpet cleaning company.
Students will learn different methods of rug cleaning, color fastness testing, animal urine decontamination and “easy” fringe cleaning.
If you want to take the IICRC RCT Certification exam, pre-requisites are Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) or Commercial Carpet maintenance Technician (CMT) and Upholstery or Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT) Certifications.
If not, then just come to learn more about rugs and cleaning, even if you've taken other classes before. This one is really different!! The course is an all PowerPoint presentation with numerous videos of rug making construction and hand-knotting techniques. The IICRC test fee is $65.00 per student.
Cost: $895.00, 2nd or more from the same company $795.00 each and includes: 160 page manual, numerous hand-outs, all lunches and snacks.
Bring a rug to clean (less than 6’x 9’) and “EARN WHILE YOU LEARN.”
If you’re interested in replacing lost on-location cleaning business; if you’re interested in extra income from the fastest growing segment of the floorcovering market; or if you’re just interested in learning more about rug ID, and a lot of HANDs-ON cleaning, then reserve your seat today!

Note:  To be permitted to take the IICRC RCT exam, student must have the following pre-requisite: Carpet Cleaning (CCT) or Commercial Carpet Maintenance Technician (CMT) or Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning (UFT).
